Who is proposing the Kosci Junction Project?

 

Boardwalk Pipelines, LP (“Boardwalk”), through its subsidiaries Gulf South Pipeline Company, LLC (“Gulf South”) and Texas Gas Transmission, LLC (“Texas Gas”), is proposing the Kosci Junction Project. Boardwalk primarily provides the transportation and storage of natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs) for our customers.  We are committed to operating our assets in a safe, reliable and compliant manner, while also providing the highest level of customer service.

What is the Kosci Junction Project?

The Kosci Junction Project is a pipeline and compressor station construction project.

The Project entails constructing:

  • Approximately 102 miles of new 36-inch pipe from Attala to Clarke counties, MS
  • Approximately 8 miles of new 36-inch pipe in Humphreys & Sunflower counties, MS
  • The new Kosci Compressor Station in Attala County, MS
  • The new Holmes Compressor Station in Holmes County, MS
  • Modifications to the company’s existing Greenville Compressor Station in Washington County, MS and Isola Compressor Station in Humphreys County, MS

When will the Kosci Junction Project occur?

The Kosci Junction Project process will take roughly 5 years from start to finish. We began stakeholder engagement and project planning activities in the fourth quarter of 2024 and anticipate being in-service by April 2029, provided we receive all required regulatory approvals. Why is Boardwalk proposing the Kosci Junction Project?

Boardwalk is proposing the Kosci Junction Project to enhance the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas for heating, industrial use, and power generation to residents and businesses in Mississippi. This Project will strengthen the communities where our employees live and work, while also developing critical infrastructure that connects the nation's abundant natural gas resources to growing energy markets. By expanding pipeline capacity, the Kosci Junction Project will support economic growth in Mississippi and the Southeastern U.S., ensuring access to a reliable energy supply for years to come.

Latest project update

FERC FILING
ACCESS & PARTICIPATION

Gulf South and Texas Gas are regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), an independent federal agency responsible for overseeing interstate natural gas pipelines.

On February 7, 2025, Gulf South and Texas Gas initiated the pre-filing process with FERC for the Kosci Junction Project under Docket No. PF25-6-000 to encourage early engagement with stakeholders prior to the submission of a formal application. During this phase, both the FERC and our company hosted in-person information sessions for landowners and the community; see meeting locations, dates, and details below.

On September 12, 2025, Gulf South and Texas Gas submitted a formal application to the FERC for the Kosci Junction Project under Docket Nos. CP25-547-000 and CP25–549-000, officially beginning the formal project review process.

You may access copies of both pre-filing and formal filing documents, as well as FERC issuances related to the Project, by visiting the FERC eLibrary and searching using the relevant docket numbers listed above.

FERC will continue to notify applicable stakeholders, solicit feedback, and allow for public comment throughout the formal application review process. Copies of the formal application will be made available at designated library locations, and links to newspaper articles covering the Project will be posted here as they become available.
